McCaslin Blvd.
Vice-Chairperson Wilson noted the Special Prosecutor, Mark Shapiro, was
present. He introduced himself to the Authority and introduced John Gstalder,
attorney for the licensee. Mr. Shapiro informed the Authority he had investigated
the incident thoroughly and also viewed the video of the transaction at the store.
He presented the Authority with reasons he felt the show cause should be
dismissed. He reported in viewing the tape, there was no basis for the store
clerk to treat this sale different from any other sale. The customer in question
showed no signs of intoxication during the transaction. Shapiro felt he did not
have evidence to pursue this case and moved the Authority dismiss the charges
against Centennial Wine and Spirits.
Mr. Gstalder wanted the Authority to be aware the licensee is diligent about
sending their employees to training. He presented several certificates of
completion of liquor training for Centennial Wine and Spirits employees.
