Filing a written verified complaint with the City Prosecutor. <br /> . City prosecutor provides complaint to advisory judge. <br /> . Advisory judge appoints special prosecutor. <br /> . Special prosecutor investigates, including input from the official. <br />2) Advisory opinion - Section 5-13 <br /> . Seek an advisory opinion from an advisory judge. <br /> . Initiated by any officer, public body member or employee who is uncertain <br /> about the applicability of the Louisville Code of Ethics. <br /> . Request submitted to City Council, Mayor or City Manager, who can <br /> submit to advisory judge. <br /> . Request may also be sent by an officer or public body members directly to <br /> the advisory judge. <br />3) Municipal court enforcement action 5-14 <br /> . An official/employee who is convicted of a violation of the ethics code shall <br /> be punished as provided in Section 16-7 of the Charter. <br />4) Voiding of Contract - Section 5-15 <br /> . If a contract is entered into by the City in which there was or is an interest <br /> prohibited by the Code, the contract may be voided at the option of the <br /> City. If the City Attorney determines the public interest is served by not <br /> voiding the contract, it may be enforced and an action for damages may <br /> be brought against the wrongful actor for twice the damages suffered by <br /> the City or twice the profit or gain realized by the wrongful actor, <br /> whichever is greater. <br />5) Injunction - 5-16 <br /> . City prosecutor can bring an action to enjoin any violation of the Ethics <br /> Code. <br />6) Enforcement actions under state statute - C.R.S. 24-18-103 <br />
