City Council
Meeting Minutes
September 19, 2006
introduction for second reading in October 2004. Most recently, City Council
continued second reading and the public hearing from July 18, 2006 to
September 19, 2006 to allow additional time for work on a potential amendment
to the Northwest Parkway Intergovernmental Agreement regarding the status of
the Hoyle Property.
A proposed amendment has been drafted as a result of discussions among the
property owners and staff from the City and Boulder County. The process has
now been commenced for all parties to the IGA to formally consider the potential
IGA amendment. The referral was sent to Boulder County, the City and County of
Broomfield and the City of Lafayette to request those entities have their
governing bodies formally act on thE! proposed amendment. If that process is
completed with the other parties approving the amendment, then City Council
would proceed to hold a public hearing on the IGA amendment and the property
owner's zoning request. An additional round of public notice will be completed
prior to that City Council hearing.
An additional continuance of Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004, from September
19, 2006 to October 17, 2006, was requested to allow additional time for the IGA
referral process. It is not yet known when the other IGA parties will consider the
amendment, but a one-month continuance is suggested as an appropriate time
period given the current status of this matter. Mr. Richard Lopez, Counsel for the
Hoyle family, has filed written consent to the continuance. Staff recommended
the City Council pass a motion continuing the public hearing and second reading
of Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004, to October 17, 2006.
Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing.
MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to continue the public hearing and second reading
of Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004 to October 17, 2006, seconded by Mayor
Pro T em Brown.
