<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> September 19, 2006 <br /> Page 8 of 10 <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Brown offered a friendly amendment that the split of the $80,000 <br /> PEG fees would have no bearing on the decision made on future PEG fees <br /> available after the 42 month period. Council member Marsella accepted the <br /> friendly amendment. <br /> VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote 6-1. Council <br /> member Yarnell voted no. <br /> LIBRARY UPDATE <br /> Deputy City Manager Boyd reported the Staff has continued to work with AEC <br /> (Architectural Energy Corporation) to see if a method of retrofitting photovoltaic <br /> panels to the new library building is feasible. The City continues to receive final <br /> billings for the new library building, including the final change order and billing <br /> from A&P Construction. Final numbers from the construction will be available <br /> within the next several days. Staff will recommend an amount to be carried in the <br /> library construction account in 2007 to allow for additional, unexpected work and <br /> changes that may be required or desired. <br /> Mayor Sisk asked Staff to investigate other alternative energy efficient measures <br /> at the library. Deputy City Manager Boyd confirmed Staff would continue to look <br /> for alternative energy efficient measures. <br /> Library Director Anne Mojo reported the library staff has worked with other <br /> libraries, schools and non-profit organizations to dispose of the furniture and <br /> equipment left in the old library building. The amount received by the City totaled <br /> $4,184.00. <br /> Council member Sackett referred to the library circulation statistics report <br /> between August 7, and September '7,2006 and asked how the statistics <br /> compared to other communities. Library Director Mojo stated the statistics <br /> percentages were very similar to other communities. <br /> CITY HALL REMODEL <br /> Deputy City Manager Boyd updated Council on the City Hall remodel. The <br /> remodel began with the former police department space renovation to <br /> accommodate other departments. The remodel includes a new roof, HA VC <br /> system, audio/visual modifications to the City Council Chambers, and new wiring <br /> and lighting throughout the building, The new roof is a white reflective material <br /> similar to the one installed at the new library. The roof installation should be <br /> completed by the end of the month. The work is on schedule and the completion <br /> of the police department area will bE~ in mid-October. <br />
