City Council
Special Meeting Minutes
September 26,2006
DISCUSSION - PROPOSED RESOLUTION STATING INTENT OF COUNCIL
FOR APPLICATON OF USE TAX PROCEEDS FROM BALLOT ISSUE 2A
City Council discussed their intent for the application of the use tax proceeds
from Ballot Issue 2A, should it be approved by the voters. Discussion included
Memory Square Pool, the Louisville Museum, and the library.
City Manager Simmons explained the main goal in the budget process is to
preserve core services, police, water, and streets.
Eileen Patrick, Chairperson of the 2A Issue Committee, stated the committee has
purchased yard signs, which say "Keep Louisville Number One". She noted they
have not targeted any city service.
There was Council consensus on a statement of intent for the 2% use tax
allocated to the General Fund. Funds would be earmarked for Memory Square
and other recreational services, open space and parks, library, youth and senior
services, and public safety.
ADJOURN
