Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />January 8, 2025 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />o Secretary: John Webb <br />o Co -Secretary: Kathy Kelsey <br />• 2025 Meeting Dates <br />o Meetings to occur on first Wednesday of each month, 6:30PM, Louisville Library <br />first floor meeting room, with rescheduling for holidays. <br />• Approval of posting locations <br />o City Hall, Police Station, Library, Louisville Recreation and Senior Center, and <br />Louisville City Website <br />• Outdoor Amenities representation: Abby noted that the Outdoor Amenities <br />collaboration committee with the Recreation Advisory Board had lost two representatives <br />from PLAB due to PPLAB resignations. PPLAB member Gene Kutscher spoke on <br />issues currently being evaluated by the existing Outdoor Amenities Board: <br />o A community desire for a fifth tennis court at Centennial Park, which must meet <br />USTA qualified, City Council has deferred decision on this expenditure to date. <br />o A past Boulder Daily Camera article cited an intergovernmental agreement <br />between Louisville, Lafayette and unincorporated Boulder County to develop <br />joint -use sports activity fields, wherein Louisville agreed to build and has built <br />baseball fields for joint usage, and Lafayette agreed to build adjacent <br />multipurpose fields. Boulder has removed existing tennis courts for the <br />University of Colorado South Campus expansion and has modified some other <br />Tennis Courts for Pickle Ball, thus removing these tennis courts from USTA <br />certification. To date, Boulder has not replaced these tennis courts and Lafayette <br />has not fulfilled its commitment to building the multipurpose fields. <br />o The objective of the current Outdoor Amenities board is to encourage the cities of <br />Boulder and Lafayette to fulfill their earlier commitment by replacing the lost <br />tennis courts in Boulder, and for Lafayette to comply with its prior agreement to <br />build multiple use athletic fields. The outdoor Amenities Board meets once a <br />month at the Louisville Recreation Center and reports back to PPLAB. PPLAB <br />member Julien Denat volunteered to serve on the Outdoor Amenities Board. <br />■ Abby has met with RAB re: Concerns of users of the Bocci Ball Courts <br />that have requested improved maintenance for the courts. <br />8. Enclave and Sunflower 95% Presentation — review <br />• Review by Bryon Weber. Byron summarized the history of these two parks located on <br />Davidson Mesa (Enclave) and between Washington St and Sunflower Street, which <br />were damaged by the Marshall fire and have been designated for renovation. <br />Renovations are to be augmented by a $500K GoCO grant, plus an in -kind match by the <br />City of Louisville. Planning for this renovation began in 2023, soon after the fire with <br />multiple opportunities for public input. Design Concepts submitted designs, which <br />received the award in December of 2023.
