A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR STOLZMANN
The Louisville Police Department,
under the leadership of our Police
Chief Dave Hayes, has been
recognized for exemplary actions
and policies this year. I am very
proud of our Police Department
and the values they continually
display through their actions. In the
last year, the Obama Foundation
recognized that our department's
practices and policies meet the'8 Can't Wait standards'
for reimagining policing. The department was also
featured on the Denver News for exploring innovative
tools like the Bolawrap, a pre -escalation apprehension
tool.
2021 Beth Haynes Special Recognition Award
Most recently, the Louisville Police Department
received a Special Recognition Award at the 2021
Beth Haynes Memorial Ceremony for their exemplary
service in responding to domestic violence in Boulder
County. In addition to the award for the entire
department, four of our officers were nominated for
the Beth Haynes Award for demonstrating work of the
highest standard of service.
Each nomination and award was earned because of
deeply emotional casework where the officers used
compassion, followed their intuition to dig deeper into
what was really happening, and uncovered the truth
about domestic violence and/or helped victims, who
were terrified of their abusers. Their hard work and
training are being recognized at a regional level and
this reflects the department's commitment to serving
our community. The Boulder County Domestic
Violence Task Force and Zonta Foothills Club of
Boulder County recognition includes:
2021 Beth Haynes Memorial Special Recognition -
Louisville Police Department
2021 Beth Haynes Memorial Award Nominees -
Sergeant Ben Redard
Officer Christopher Humphreys
Officer Ben Hibl
Officer Don Adam
Thank you to the department and to Chief Hayes for
your tireless commitment to community policing,
investigating beyond the obvious, and for making
common sense common again.
Mayor Ashley Stolzmann
COVID-19 UPDATE
Colorado continues to experience high levels of
COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, primarily of the
unvaccinated.
