L <br />4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS <br />With the cancellation of 2020's <br />annual 4th of July fireworks, the <br />City is excited to announce that <br />fireworks are back on for 2021. <br />While the fireworks will be <br />happening, the event will look a <br />little different than past celebrations. Coal Creek Golf <br />Course will not be open for viewing the fireworks and <br />the pre -fireworks activities will not take place this year. <br />A special display will reach a higher elevation and ac- <br />commodate more city-wide viewing. Residents are en- <br />couraged to view from home or one of the suggested <br />viewing locations. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/4thofJuly <br />for details. Due to the changing nature of public health <br />guidance, event details are subject to change. <br />During the day, Coal Creek Golf course will be open to <br />golfers for tee times. <br />STREET FAIRE AND SUMMER CONCERTS <br />Both Street Faire and the City's Summer Concert series, <br />which were cancelled last year due to the pandemic, <br />are currently planned to go ahead this year. Due to <br />the changing nature of public health guidance, event <br />details are subject to change. <br />Street Faire is a Friday night concert series hosted by <br />the Downtown Business Association on Front Street <br />and the Steinbaugh Pavilion. <br />The Summer Concert series takes place on Thursday <br />evenings in Community Park and is hosted by the City <br />through the Louisville Cultural Council. <br />Both events are free to attend. Please check the City <br />calendar before attending any events to confirm that <br />the event is going ahead and if any restrictions are in <br />place. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar for details. <br />FREE HOME & BUSINESS SPRINKLER AUDITS <br />Conserve water by signing up for a free sprinkler audit, <br />courtesy of the City and Resource Central. The audits <br />are available to residences, HOAs, and commercial <br />properties on a first -come, first served basis. <br />The service usually takes an hour to an hour and 15 <br />minutes and includes a customized watering schedule <br />and DIY maintenance tips to maximize efficiency. <br />Residential: ResourceCentral.org/sprinklers or call <br />303.999.3824 <br />Commercial & HOA: <br />ResourceCentral.org/outdoor-irrigation-assessment <br />MEMORY SQUARE OUTDOOR POOL <br />Memory Square Outdoor Pool opened on May 1 <br />(a month earlier than usual) for lap swim, water <br />aerobics, and open swim. <br />The outdoor pool, located at 801 Grant Avenue in <br />Memory Square Park, includes a children's splash pool, <br />lap and free swim, a slide, and a zipline. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/OutdoorPool for hours and the <br />latest rules and regulations or call 303.666.7909. <br />Visit www.rainedout.net to receive weather -related <br />pool closure text alerts. <br />Private Rentals <br />The outdoor pool is available for private rentals on <br />Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6 PM-8 PM <br />from May 21 through August 28. For more info about <br />private rentals, contact Kate Meyer at <br />KateM@LouisvilleCO.gov or 303.335.4927. <br />MUSEUM'S WALKING TOURS <br />The Museum is excited to offer fun and history - <br />focused walking tours this summer. Capacity will be <br />limited and advanced registration is required. <br />Historic Trees of Downtown Louisville - Join Chris <br />Lichty, City Forester, as he leads his popular tour about <br />historic and significant trees in Louisville. The tour will <br />be offered on June 5 and September 25 at 9 AM. This <br />tour is co -sponsored by the Parks, Recreation, & Open <br />Space Team and the Louisville Historical Museum. <br />Louisville's Frenchtown Neighborhood - Diane <br />Marino will lead a tour of the historic Frenchtown <br />neighborhood that is located in the vicinity of Rex and <br />Parkview Streets, just north of Community Park. This <br />area was the heart of Louisville's French community <br />made up of families who mostly came from coal <br />mining areas in northern France.This tour will be <br />offered on June 12 and September 18 at 9 AM. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar to register. <br />MAPS AND OTHER WALK & BIKE RESOURCES <br />Louisville has approximately 32 miles of trails spread <br />throughout town, including the popular 'Loops of <br />Louisville' 1 mile, 5k, and 10k routes. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/WalkorBike for trail maps, the <br />Boulder Area Trails App for iOS and Android, events <br />and education, safety tips, and cycling laws. <br />Printed trail maps can also be collected at City Hall <br />(749 Main Street) and the Recreation & Senior Center <br />(900 Via Appia Way). <br />Summer 2021 • Page 3 <br />
