-IA <br />OPEN SPACE EVENTS: JUNE-JULY <br />Pulling for Louisville: Volunteer Weed Pull (All ages) <br />Wednesday, June 30 from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM <br />Hecla Lake Open Space <br />(meet at eastern entrance off of Lakespur Ln.) <br />The Open Space Division is working hard to remove <br />weeds on Hecla Lake Open Space and we need your <br />help! Learn why noxious weed management is <br />important from 6:30 to 6:40 PM. <br />Then help clip seed heads and dig up noxious weeds. <br />Please bring gloves and hand clippers (if you have <br />them) and be prepared for the elements. <br />NO open -toed shoes. <br />Pulling for Louisville: Volunteer Weed Pull (All ages) <br />FREE Native Plants to Participants! <br />Saturday, July 10 from 8 AM-10 AM <br />Davidson Mesa Open Space <br />(meet at parking lot off of McCaslin Blvd.) <br />We need your help pulling weeds on Davidson Mesa <br />Open Space! Learn why noxious weed management <br />is important during weed identification training from <br />8-8:30 AM. Then help clip seed heads and dig up <br />noxious weeds. <br />FREE native plants, refreshments and snacks will be <br />provided. Please bring gloves and hand clippers (if <br />you have them) and be prepared for the elements. <br />NO open -toed shoes. <br />Catfishing Night (All ages) <br />Saturday, July 10 from 8:30 PM-9:30 PM <br />Harper Lake Open Space <br />(meet at trailhead off of Washington Ave.) <br />Normally, all Open Space areas close at sunset, but <br />we're making a special exception! Join City of <br />Louisville staff for a nighttime catfishing event. All <br />individuals age 16 or older must be prepared to <br />present a valid Colorado fishing license. <br />Noxious Weed ID Booth (All ages) <br />Thursday, July 15 from 10 AM-12 PM <br />Hecla Lake Open Space <br />(meet at eastern entrance off of Lakespur Ln.) <br />Stop by our booth at Hecla Lake Open Space and chat <br />with the Open Space Specialist for information and <br />view samples of some of the noxious weeds present <br />on Open Space. Registration not required. <br />OPEN SPACE EVENTS: JULY-AUGUST <br />Fishing Derby (All ages) <br />Saturday, July 24 from 10 AM-1 PM <br />Harper Lake Open Space (meet near kiosk at parking <br />lot off of Washington Ave.) <br />Stop by Harper Lake Open Space for a fun Fishing <br />Derby with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Open <br />Space staff! Participants will learn how to tie fishing <br />knots, handle fish, and how to cast. Fishing poles will <br />be provided. <br />Pulling for Louisville: Volunteer Weed Pull (All ages) <br />Wednesday, July 28 from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM <br />Aquarius Open Space (meet at trailhead off of HWY 42) <br />The Open Space Division is working hard to remove <br />weeds on Aquarius Open Space and we need your <br />help! Come and learn why noxious weed management <br />is important from 6:30-6:40 PM and then we will be <br />clipping and bagging seed -heads of noxious weeds on <br />the property. Please bring gloves and hand clippers (if <br />you have them) and be prepared for the elements. NO <br />open -toed shoes. <br />Pulling for Louisville: Volunteer Weed Pull (All ages) <br />Saturday, August 7 from 8 AM-10 AM <br />Harper Lake Open Space (meet at trailhead off of <br />Washington Ave.) <br />Help pull weeds on Harper Lake Open Space. Learn <br />why noxious weed management is important from <br />8:00 to 8:15 AM. Then help clip seed heads and dig up <br />noxious weeds. Please bring gloves and hand clippers <br />(if you have them) and be prepared for the elements. <br />NO open -toed shoes. <br />Dark Sky Monitoring (All ages) <br />Saturday, August 7 from 9:30 PM-10:30 PM <br />Davidson Mesa Open Space (meet at trailhead off of <br />McCaslin Blvd.) <br />Did you know that true darkness is an endangered <br />resource?
