In 2021 the City established an
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Task Force to
support community -based conversations about
which EDI topics are most important and what the
City can do to address them. One of the five key
areas identified by the EDI Task Force is creating a
safe and welcoming environment. A few of the ways
we're doing this is by recognizing and celebrating
different cultural events and holidays, learning about
other cultures and planning programs and events
that reflect diverse communities. Learn more at
www.louisvilleco.gov/RecognitionCalendar.
Pride Month: Flag Raising and Street Art
Wed., June 1 at 5:30 PM at City Hall
Celebrate the beginning of Pride month with a flag
raising and new street art! On July
26th, we celebrate this important civil rights law that
prohibits discrimination against individuals with dis-
abilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools,
transportation, and all public and private places that
are open to the general public. The purpose of the
law is to make sure that people with disabilities have
the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
Celebrate with us by visiting, www.adaanniversary.org.
Celebrate.
