NEWS FROM CITY HALL <br />A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR MALONEY <br />aspects of life in <br />reviewed by the <br />Thisfall,the City is kicking off a couple <br />of exciting projects that will set the <br />vision for the future of Louisville. <br />The first is the City's Comprehensive <br />Plan, a policy document that <br />provides a 10-year vision for the city's <br />future. The City has hired Design <br />Workshop, Inc., a Denver -based <br />firm to work with staff to address all <br />Louisville. Ultimately, the Plan will be <br />Planning Commission and reviewed <br />and adopted by City Council. This project will begin <br />later this year and is expected to take about 18 months <br />to complete. Community input is critical to the <br />development of the Comprehensive Plan, so please <br />stay up-to-date by visiting EngageLouisville.org and <br />signing up for email notifications. <br />The City is also in the process of drafting its first -ever <br />Housing Plan to evaluate Louisville's current and <br />future housing needs and develop a set of responsive <br />strategies. Developing this plan involves multiple <br />stages, including opportunities for community input on <br />a needs assessment and draft strategies. <br />MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />There will also be reviews by and feedback <br />from the Planning Commission and City Council. <br />Recommendations from the Housing Plan will help <br />inform the Comprehensive Plan. To stay up-to-date, <br />follow the "City of Louisville Housing Plan" project at <br />EngageLouisville.org. I hope you'll also join us for <br />an open house on the Housing Plan from 6-8 p.m. <br />on Wednesday, October 4 at the Recreation & Senior <br />Center. <br />Another important aspect of the Comprehensive and <br />Housing Plans is support for the city's economic vitality. <br />The Citystrivesto promote a thriving businessclimatethat <br />provides job opportunities, and to facilitate investments <br />that produce reliable revenue to support City services. <br />The City adopted the Louisville Economic Vitality <br />Strategic Plan in 2020 and is in process of developing <br />priorities for the 2023 Economic Vitality Committee <br />Work Plan.
