Topics covered include food <br />waste, solar energy, and the electronics industry and <br />e-waste. After each screening, Q&A sessions will <br />feature local and regional experts on the topic at hand <br />and moderated by Louisville Sustainable Advisory <br />Board members and Louisville students.The films have <br />been generously provided by the Louisville Cultural <br />Council and Walking Mountains Science Center <br />out of Avon. <br />Wasted! Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/SustainableFilms <br />to register and find out more. <br />ART GRANT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN <br />The Louisville Cultural Council is offering art grants <br />to artists and arts organizations serving the Louisville <br />community. <br />The annual art grant program provides financial and <br />facility support to projects which utilize the arts as <br />their primary means of expression. In awarding these <br />grants, the Louisville Cultural Council seeks to further <br />their mission of engaging our diverse social, cultural, <br />and creative community. Diversity of media and <br />creative artistic expression is encouraged. <br />In consideration of the impact of COVID-19 on local <br />artists and arts organizations including public health <br />limitations on the size of in -person gatherings, new <br />grant categories and eligibility requirements have <br />been created for 2021. Grants for performances and <br />other public projects have been altered to support <br />socially -distanced arts opportunities for Louisville <br />residents. Grants are also available to support the <br />professional development and artistic enrichment of <br />artists serving the Louisville community. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/ArtGrant for more information. <br />LIFE IN LOUISVILLE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST <br />This year, more than ever, we'd love to see your photos <br />of Louisville. The Life in Louisville Photography <br />Contest, in partnership with the Museum's Be a Part of <br />the Story, will record life in Louisville during 2020. And <br />oh, what a year it has been! <br />Through this annual photography contest, the City <br />aims to help preserve images and reminders of <br />Louisville for this and future generations. <br />Students, amateur photographers, and professional <br />photographers are invited to enter. Louisville residents <br />and non-residents alike are welcome to submit photos <br />to the competition. <br />Photography contest winners will be announced at <br />the Louisville City Council Meeting in February, 2021. <br />Finalist photos will be displayed at the Louisville <br />Recreation and Senior Center in February 2021 and <br />showcased on the City of Louisville website. <br />The Louisville Historical Museum may select entries <br />from submitted photos to add to the Museum <br />collection as part of the Museum's Be a Part of the <br />Story.Through this initiative, the Museum invites <br />residents to share a story, a memory, or a reflection <br />about living in Louisville. <br />The entry deadline is Friday, January 22, 2021. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/LifeinLouisville to find out more <br />and submit your photos.
