I love Louisville in the wintertime — the holiday lights, Old
Town Skate, and other wonderful traditions. But right now, I
am really looking forward to spring. Along with the flowers,
exciting changes and new projects will be blossoming here
in our community!
As you may have heard, Louisville will soon have a new City
Manager! Following a robust nationwide recruiting process,
the City Council unanimously voted to offer the position to
Diana Langley, who currently serves as the City Manager for
Yuba City, California, a city of 70,000 north of Sacramento.
Diana and her husband are currently in the process of moving
to Louisville, and she's expected to step into the city manager
role on March 31. City Council, City Staff, and many residents
I've heard from were very impressed by Diana's community -
oriented style of leadership and how thoroughly she has
already begun familiarizing herself with our community and
the issues that are important to us. I am excited to welcome
her to Louisville and our City government!
On behalf of the Council and the community, I want to thank
Interim City Manager Samma Fox for the outstanding job she
has done on an interim basis during the last eight months.
Samma's leadership has been invaluable throughout this
transition. We are fortunate that she will be staying on as she
returns to her previous post of Deputy City Manager.
Our Comprehensive Plan is also beginning to blossom into
its final form after extensive community input during the
last year. We anticipate that a draft plan will be available for
public review in late spring and Council expects to adopt a
final plan this summer. To follow along with the project, visit
EngageLou isvi I IeCO.org.
Mayor Chris Leh
We are also beginning the
process of turning into reality
our Louisville Downtown Vision
Plan, which the Louisville Revitalization
Commission has spearheaded and which Council approved
last November. City Staff are working on adapting the
transformative streetscape improvements envisioned by the
plan into the design and engineering documents we need to
carry us forward. I am optimistic that we will be able to start
on those improvements — which you will hear referred to as
the "Front & Center Project" — by the end of this year.
Last but not least, a host of exciting developments are in
process throughout Louisville. The McCaslin corridor is
beginning to flower once more, with a new King Soopers
Marketplace store in the works, Relish Pickleball & Food
Hall under construction, and the University of Colorado's
redevelopment of the Cinebarre site in the planning stages.
Downtown, Birdie Bar will replace the old Sinclair gas station,
and the Louisville Grain Elevator has new owners that are
working with the City to activate that space. New housing
is coming to the Highway 42 corridor with the Delo Boom
project, and Ironton Distillery is beginning construction on a
distillery and event center at Highway 42 and Empire Road.
Your City Council has outlined ambitious goals for this year in
our 2025 Work Plan. Economic Vitality, Core Services, Safety,
and Housing are top of mind, along with Equity, Diversity, &
Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability as lenses that we
view all of our solutions through. It is my privilege to
serve as your mayor during this exciting time for Louisville,
and I look forward to realizing our community goals together!
Leh@LouisvilleCO.gov
Ward 1 Caleb Dickinson (Mayor Pro Tern) CDickinson@LouisvilleCO.gov
Josh Cooperman JCooperman@LouisvilleCO.gov
Deborah Fahey
Judi Kern
and 3 Dietrich Hoefner
Barbara Hamlington
DFahey@LouisvilleCO.gov
JKern@LouisvilleCO.gov
DHoefner@LouisvilleCO.gov
BHamlington@LouisvilleCO.gov
303.668.3916
303.495.8219
720.391.5861
720.320.5539
720.724.5684
720.419.5030
269.277.7673
e ity` ouncil generally holds1egular meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at
6 p.m. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar for details.
