Cityoj <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Arbor Day Proclamation <br />April 18, 2025 <br />WHEREAS, The City of Louisville conducts an annual Arbor Day Celebration, employs staff <br />dedicated to tree care, has written a tree ordinance, and spends more than two <br />dollars per capita on tree care, the National Arbor Day Foundation recognizes the <br />City of Louisville as a Tree City USA for the 44th consecutive year and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville received the Tree City USA Growth Award from the National <br />Arbor Day Foundation for hiring a City Forester and completing an inventory of <br />city trees and; <br />WHEREAS, through the work of the Parks and Public Landscapes Board, the City of Louisville <br />has established and committed to an ongoing landscape beautification master <br />plan involving the planting of numerous trees and shrubs and; <br />WHEREAS, through lottery proceeds the City of Louisville has established an arboretum and <br />continues to maintain and manage through sound arboricultural practices and; <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Public Landscapes Board and City of Louisville staff continue to <br />educate the public on sound horticultural and forestry practices and; <br />WHEREAS, Arbor Day has been celebrated nationally since 1872. <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Christopher Leh, Mayor of the City of Louisville, do hereby proclaim Friday, <br />April 18th, 2025 as Arbor Day in the city of Louisville and urge all citizens to celebrate efforts to <br />care for our trees and woodlands and to support our city's community forestry program, and I <br />urge all citizens to plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of present and <br />future generations. <br />DATED this 15th day of April 2025. <br />C.
