Approval of Agenda
Moved and approved
4. Approval of Minutes
Moved and approved
5. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda
Beth Armbruster; comments regarding a native plant garden at the Arboretum:
• Important to establish native species at the Arboretum to increase diversity,
appeal, interest and educational values. Specifically, return native species to
rather than turf grass that depletes resources - favoring blue gramma, buffalo
grass.
• Could be included as a native plant demonstration garden
• A suggested location would be on the east side of the pavilion; remove grass
near the flagstone walkway. The Flagstone walkway there is a good location for
viewing Arboretum and creating a more attractive view to the east compared to
the rainwater retention area.
• This location is visible to visitors.
• Proposed species include blue stem, rabbit brush, cone flower, wild rose, native
shrubs, etc.
• Also, the west perimeter adjacent to police station could be planted with natives
that blend with foothills backdrop looking west, prairie sage, golden rod, yucca,
prairie grasses.
3
