Economic Vitality Committee
Meeting Minutes
April 10, 2025
Page 4of4
Manager Zarate responded that there have not yet been and discussions, but
noted that those partners will be contacted.
Councilmember Kern recommended that Louisville have a handout with
transportation information, event information, and other Louisville information
that would encourage attendees to visit Louisville. Manager Zarate responded
that there has been discussion around something like this, but noted that this
may end up being a countywide approach and noted that the parties would
want to make sure not to duplicate efforts.
City Manager Langley noted that Council may have the ability to lift restrictions
on short-term rentals and wondered whether the City may be able to tax short-
term rentals. She also wondered whether there may be some sort of trolley or
other transit option to bring people to and from Louisville.
Public Comment from Gillian Millar, Executive Director of the Louisville
Chamber of Commerce:
Ms. Millar commented that the Louisville Chamber has been meeting with the
Northwest Chamber Alliance and is involved in ongoing conversations around
Sundance.
10. Development Updates:
Councilmember Fahey asked whether there was any update on McCaslin
restaurants being able to use parties in parking spots on McCaslin. Director
Zuccaro responded that McCaslin restaurants usually have space for outdoor
dining and can approach the City for a Special Review Use for outdoor dining.
He also added that patios in the parking spots may be further away from the
restaurant and may cause problems with liquor licensing.
Councilmember Kern commented that Birdie Bar seems to be coming along
quickly and noted that there seems to be a lot of excitement around the project.
Councilmember Kern also asked if there was any additional update on Ironton.
Director Zuccaro confirmed that Ironton was approved for a temporary tap
room. Manager Zarate responded that she still believes Ironton is hoping to
open this summer, but also noted that many businesses are struggling with
timelines due to delays in trading. Councilmember Kern thanked staff for the
update and noted that was an unfortunate problem and noted that it may be
impacting many Louisville businesses.
11.Adjourn: Councilmember Fahey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The
motion was seconded by Councilmember Kern. Motion passed. The meeting
adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
