Louisville Municipal Code <br />• Sec. 2.20.020. — Boards and Commissions - General <br />Except as otherwise provided by the charter or by ordinance, each board and <br />commission shall be advisory in character. <br />• Sec. 2.20.040 — Library Board <br />The city council shall appoint a library board of trustees (board) to advise library <br />administration, city council and city staff on matters concerning the public library <br />of the city. <br />The function of the Board of Trustees is to act as advocates for the city public <br />library, with a primary focus on four key areas: <br />1. Create and advance the library's service philosophy and strategic plan. <br />2. Advocate for critical resources to meet library needs. <br />3. Act as community advocates on behalf of the library to city council, the public, and <br />other libraries. <br />4.
