Figure 1: City Council 2025 Work Plan Excerpt
2025 Comprehensive
Plan Implementation -
Targeted Development
Code Amendments
Identify near term, targeted, priority development
code updates to implement the 2025
Comprehensive Plan that should occur prior to the
development code rewrite project that is planned to
begin in early 2026. Such code changes include but
are not limited to parts of Title 16 (Subdivisions) and
Title 17 (Zoning}_
Potential council actions
include discussion and
direction, if needed, as well as
adoption of targeted code
amendments.
One of the primary purposes of the anticipated land development code rewrite is to
provide more predicable land development codes and procedures. Current codes and
procedures are generally considered to be outdated and in need of modernization. The
subject ordinance, for example, originated in 1983. Another purpose of the land
development code rewrite is to create a more business -friendly approach to land
development review processes in the City. This targeted amended to Sec. 17.72.190
eliminates a vague and contradictory section of the current land development code and
will allow more predicable processes for PCZD zoned properties and for the
implementation of GDPs.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
No public comments have been submitted.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of Resolution 6, Series 2025 recommending to the City
Council approval of an ordinance amending Louisville Municipal Code Section
17.72.190 regarding yard and bulk requirements for GDPs.
ATTACHMENTS:
1.
