Development <br /> <br /> <br />2.68.060 ENTRANCE SALARY - Employees shall be employed in <br />accordance with their respective position classification in effect at <br />the time of their employment and shall commence under the minimum <br />salary range unless written approval is obtained from the City <br />Administrator and budgeted funds are available to employ above this <br />rate. <br /> <br />2.68.070 COST OF LIVING INCREASES - Every employee in a <br />permanent status shall receive in addition to his base salary an annual <br />cost of living increase in January of each year. All cost of living <br />increases shall be based on annual negotiations with the Mayor and <br />City Council. The City Administrator shall represent the City employees <br />in the negotiations. <br /> <br />2.68.080 ADVANCEMENT WITHIN A PAY RANGE - Each employee shall <br />be eligible for consideration for a salary increase on their <br />anniversary date in accordance with the following provisions: <br /> <br />1. Employees hired before January 1, 1982 shall have <br />the anniversary date of January 1st of each year. <br /> <br />2. Employees hired after January 1, 1982, will have <br />their date of employment as their anniversary <br />date. <br /> <br />3. Recommendation for a salary increase shall be <br />based upon the written performance appraisal <br />of the employee's immediate supervisor. <br /> <br />A. If the appraisal indicates that the employee <br />is exceeding the established performance <br />standards for the position occupied, the <br />employee may be recommended for a full grade <br />increase. <br /> <br />B. If the appraisal indicates the employee is <br />meeting performance standards, the employee <br />may be recommended for a two-thirds grade <br />increase. <br /> <br />C. Employees whose performance is evaluated as <br />not meeting performance standards shall be <br />reviewed every 90 days until their perfor- <br />mance meets standards. Any employee's <br />performance which does not meet standards <br />after two (2) successive performance <br />appraisals shall have his performance <br />reviewed by the department head to determine <br />recommendations relative to continued <br />employment in that position. <br /> <br />a. Any employee subjected to an-above-referred <br />90 day review and on this current review <br />was found to be now meeting standards will <br />not be eligible for recommendations for a <br />salary increase until his/her next regular <br />salary increase date. <br />
