Lcityof <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Memorandum <br />To: City Council <br />From: Hannah Miller, Sustainability Manager <br />Logan Johnson, Sustainability Specialist <br />CC: Diana Langley, City Manager <br />Samma Fox, Deputy City Manager <br />Date: July 15, 2025 <br />Re: Sustainability Update <br />This memo provides an overview of the work completed by the Sustainability Division ("the Division") in <br />2024, and early 2025, and highlights how the Division's efforts align with and support Council -adopted <br />initiatives, such as Resolution 18-2024. This resolution establishes formally adopted, science -based <br />climate action goals, including: <br />• A 60% reduction in community -wide greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (based on a 2016 <br />baseline) <br />• Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 <br />These goals serve as the overarching framework guiding the Division's work plans. In addition to the <br />above climate action targets, the Division aligns its work with the following plans and strategies: <br />• The Internal Decarbonization Plan, adopted in October 2023 <br />• The Sustainability Action Plan, adopted in June 2020 <br />• The Community Decarbonization Plan <br />• The City Council Work Plan and Strategic Priorities <br />• The Comprehensive Plan <br />The year 2024 was both productive and transitional for the Division. The team celebrated meaningful <br />progress while also navigating staffing changes, including the addition of a new Sustainability Specialist <br />to the Louisville team. <br />Continuing in 2025, the Division is excited about incorporating a sustainability lens at the policy level <br />and supporting several new initiatives led by both internal and external partners. <br />If there are any questions about this memo or if further details about the Division's work are desired, <br />please contact Deputy City Manager Samma Fox. <br />The Sustainability Division sincerely thanks City Council for its continued support of sustainability <br />programming and initiatives. <br />1 of 13 <br />JULY 2025 <br />5 <br />
