FROM THE DESK OF
1/ _ • ■
There's nothing quite like summers in Louisville! There are
opportunities for you, your family, your friends, and others
to join in the fun, excitement, and other happenings in our
community!
Our Farmers Market — now in its 17th season — is in full swing,
and First Fridays are back on the first Friday of each month,
courtesy of the Downtown Business Association. Summer
Concerts in the Park begin on June 19 at Community Park and
continue every Thursday through July 17, except July 3. The
25th anniversary season of Street Faire, a Louisville summer
tradition, kicks off June 13 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Steinbaugh
Pavilion. Local brewery Crystal Springs is back as the beer
sponsor and will be selling, among others, their special "Street
Faire!" brew. Check out the terrific lineup of bands on page 7.
Memory Square Outdoor Pool, home of the Louisville
Dolphins, is open (visit LouisvilleCO.gov/OutdoorPool for
hours and info), as is our newly renovated Louisville Public
Library. There's a full slate of summer events at the Library,
the Recreation & Senior Center, and throughout the City, so be
sure to check out the calendar insert in this issue.
Thanks to our friends at the Louisville Chamber, the Taste
of Louisville is back again on June 6-7, including a silent
disco dance party, 5k Fun Run & Dog Jog, Summerfest, and
the incredibly popular Dinner on Main. For more specific
information about these events, please visit the Chamber's
website at LouisvilleChamber.com. Rounding out the
weekend, Louisville's 4th annual Fire Station Block Party
returns to Fire Station #1 on Sunday, June 8.
In July, we'll celebrate Independence Day with our annual
fireworks display at Coal Creek Golf Course. I know the
•
Mayor Chris Leh
Ward 1
•
community will join me in thanking
American Legion Post No. 111 for
all their work to make it possible.
We'II also be bringing back last year's
much -loved Movie on Main Street for an encore on July 31 —
visit EngageLouisvilleCO.org to help us choose a movie!
Louisville's revised Comprehensive Plan will help to inform
and shape the City's land use planning and development
during the next decade and beyond. Many residents and other
stakeholders participated in a robust public engagement
process, and we thank you for providing thoughtful, invaluable
input! City Staff have been hard at work incorporating that and
other information into a draft for us to consider. City Council
will devote a meeting this summer to reviewing the draft plan
and obtaining additional public input. After further refinement,
Council will review a revised draft and obtain further public
input in late summer before finalizing the plan. Please continue
to engage with your neighbors, your representatives, and City
staff. As we head into the homestretch of this process, your
emails and comments to staff and Councilmembers — before
and during City Council meetings — will help make our new
Comprehensive Plan even better.
As we move into the second half of the year, we're working
on some big projects, including the Front & Center initiative
to begin implementing our Downtown Vision Plan. Over the
coming months, we'll be working to finalize the design. We're
hoping to wrap up the design process and start construction
in early 2026.
There are so many opportunities to experience and enjoy
everything Louisville has to offer this summer. I'm looking
forward to attending many of them, and I hope you will join us!
Leh©LouisvilleCO.gov
Caleb Dickinson (Mayor Pro Tem)
Josh Cooperman
CDickinson©LouisvilleCO.gov
JCooperman@LouisvilleCO.gov
Ward 2
Ward 3
Deborah Fahey
Judi Kern
DFahey©LouisvilleCO.gov
JKern@LouisvilleCO.gov
Dietrich Hoefner
Barbara Hamlington
DHoefner©LouisvilleCO.gov
BHamlington©LouisvilleCO.gov
303.668.3916
303.495.8219
720.391.5861
720.320.5539
720.724.5684
720.419.5030
269.277.7673
The City Council generally holds regular meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at 6
p.m. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar for details.
