<br /> /,"- <br /> ~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 44 <br /> Series 1983 <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Longmont, Louisville, Broomfield <br />and Lafayette are eastern Boulder County cities, and <br /> WHEREAS, said eastern Boulder County cities comprise a <br />plurality of Boulder County's population and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Councils of these eastern Boulder County <br />cites are vitally concerned with traffic safety and the reduction of <br />traffic congestion, and <br /> WHEREAS, the State Engineer's Office, the Boulder County <br />Planning Department and the Boulder County Public Works Department <br />have each identified sections of U.S. Highway 287 between Longmont <br />and Broomfield as safety hazards and points of serious traffic con- <br />gestion and <br /> WHEREAS, U.S. Highway 287 between Longmont and Broomfield <br />is the vital link for the safe vehicular movement of citizens in <br />eastern Boulder County, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of Louisville, Colorado, that a recommendation be made by copy <br />of this Resolution to the Boulder County Commissioners and the State <br />Highway Commissioners urging adoption of the widening, to a minimum <br />of four ( 4) lanes, of u.S.
