Local directories and a Louisville Times notice show that Elphe Webster moved from 1140 Main <br />in 1951 to her new home at the back of the lot with the address 940 Caledonia. Meanwhile, her <br />son, Darryl, and his family were still listed as living at 1140 Main. Elphe continued to be the <br />owner of the entire parcel. <br />Kira. Her <br />ynevi home faces Short street. l <br />1 Her sot, Hzirryl, and his family <br />live in her former home. <br />In 1954, Darryl Webster bought out O.C. Alderson's share of the Hub store, making the Webster <br />family full owners of the business. <br />Elphe Webster died in 1962. Darryl and Elsie Webster became the owners of the entire parcel. <br />In 1968, Darryl and Elsie Webster sold the parcel that included both 1140 Main and 940 <br />Caledonia. <br />Post -Webster Ownership of 1140 Main and 940 Caledonia <br />In 1968, V. Burdette Hood and Gwendolyn Hood purchased the parcel from Darryl and Elsie <br />Webster that included both 1140 Main and 940 Caledonia. In 1972, the Hoods sold it to Charles <br />and Donna Christman. <br />In 1976, the Christmans sold it to Wade and Elizabeth Payne. <br />Payne Ownership and the Creation of the Payne Subdivision <br />It appears from directories that Wade and Beth Payne rented out both 1140 Main and 940 <br />Caledonia during their ownership that started in 1976. Wade Payne was a math teacher at <br />Louisville Middle School. <br />In 1982, the Paynes subdivided the property.
