Bartimoccio (1903-1983). Michelangelo worked as a coal miner and passed away in 1903, the same year
Angelina was born. The following year, in 1904, Anna married Ferdinando "Frank" Lombardi (1863-1908).
A funny report in the Rocky Mountain Daily depicts an almost impulsive and festive wedding at City Hall
in Denver.
WEDDING OCCURS IN
MAYOR SPEER'S OFFICE
Mayor Speer was yesterday made the
best man at a wedding held in ma
office at the city hall.
Ferdinando Lombardi and Anna
Lombardi called at the office of the
city clerk shortly before noon and rsc-
cured a marriage license. They were
attended by a large delegation of
friends and relatives, and wanted to be
married at once. Justice Stapleton was
at lunch. but Judge W. A. Meet who
was passing through the hall was pre-
vailed upon to perform the ceremony.
The mayor permitted the use of his
office for the occasion.
Anna Lombardi and article from the Rocky Mountain Daily, 1904.
The Lombardis had two children, Pascal (1906-1996) and Nellie who was born in 1908, the same year
that her father, Frank died. The next year, in 1909, Anna married Michael Patete (1867-1923). The
Patetes had three children, Dominic (1910-1999), Thelma (1913-1997), and Annetta (b.1918). The
Patetes are listed in Louisville directories as living on Front St. from 1916-1930. After Michael died in
1923, Anna continued to live with her children at 524 Front St. and the property on Grant was left
undeveloped.
Angelina and Luigi "Louis" Dagostino Ownership, 1933-1948
In 1933, Anna Patete deeded Lots 81 and 82, Block 4 to her daughter Angelina Bartimoccio Dagostino
and Luigi Dagostino for $100. Angelina Bartimoccio, Anna Petete's oldest daughter, was born and raised
in Louisville. In 1924 she married Luigi "Louis" Dagostino (1902-1982), a coal miner who emmigrated
from Italy in 1923. Angelina and Louis had two daughters, Anna Dagostino (1924-2023) and Marie
Dagostino (1926-2011).
The Dagostino family is shown living on Grant, in the 1930 census and 1940 census next door to other
members of the Dagostino, Patete, and Lombardi families also living on Grant. However, while they may
have been living on the same block, there is no evidence that there was a house on the property at 1237
Grant. Later directories list the Dagostinos as living at 1245 Grant, which would be the property just
north of 1237 Grant. Luigi worked as a coal miner for 20 years and newspaper accounts also show that
the family raised and sold chickens and eggs as a home business from the 1940s -1970.
