L <br />t <br />17 <br />`� <br />* AWN.5an "s s: <br />• <br />�.I <br />PA VI <br />1909 Drumm's Wall Map of Louisville showing Emma Denton property and house location of 425 Grant. <br />The Boulder County Assessor lists the date of construction for 425 Grant as 1900. That date of <br />construction could not be confirmed through directory listings, historic photos, or other evidence. The <br />Drumm's Wall Map of Louisville from 1909 shows a building on the site and from the 1910 census, it is <br />likely that the Dentons lived on the property so the earliest evidence of construction can be considered <br />to be c.1909. However, without historic photos or a Boulder County Assessor card it is still unclear <br />whether the house that the Denton Family and possibly the Hodgson Family lived in is the same <br />structure as the current building at 425 Grant. <br />A.B. Johnston Ownership, 1912-1916 <br />Addison B. Johnston purchased the property from Emma Denton in 1912. Not much is known about A.B. <br />Johnston other than that he was born in Pennsylvania and travelled west with his wife, Sarah, and <br />daughter, Grace. From 1880-1910, the Johnston family lived in West Virginia, then Wyoming, and <br />Colorado where A.B. worked primarily as a farmer and a ranchman. The family settled in Fort Collins <br />before coming to Louisville around 1912. The 1916 Louisville City directory listed A.B. Johnston as a <br />farmer living on "Grant Ave. south of Hutchinson."
