Production growth factored into the gain, although drops in new orders and inventories offset the <br />increase. The ISM Services Index fell to 50.0 in September from 52.0 in August, which is the breakeven point between expansion and <br />contraction. The 2.0-point decline generally indicated moderate to weak growth, with only isolated reports of supplier delivery delays. <br />Employment remained in contraction territory, reflecting delayed hiring plans and ongoing challenges in finding qualified workers. <br />17/73 <br />10 <br />
