City Council
Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2025
Interim City Manager Fox presented the staff presentation.
Council Discussion
Council agreed that the 2025 Work Plan should focus on big -picture goals, not everyday
services; and reflect what residents care about, like economic growth, safety, housing,
and core services. These priorities will be shaped by values like equity and
sustainability. Council asked the Interim City Manager to carry out the plan and
emphasized that housing should include all types, not just affordable. They also want to
make sure the plan is clear, doable, and tied to the budget and community feedback.
Council recessed for dinner.
Council directed staff to move forward with the 2025 Work Plan by broadening the
housing priority to include all types, reinforcing equity and sustainability across all areas,
and refining the structure and descriptions under each priority. They agreed not to add
or remove priorities but asked for clearer alignment with community values and guiding
documents. Specific actions include creating a historic preservation fund and
commission, revisiting downtown street closure planning, and expanding the scope of
transportation and economic vitality efforts.
ADJOURN
Members adjourned at 8:37 pm.
Christo+h `' M. Leh, ayor
GeAny Kline, Interim City Clerk
