Approval of bills
Approval of minutes (4/6/99)

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Judy Turner, 155 Fairfield Lane, Louisville, Colorado, stated that Public Service has
placed a large transformer directly behind two of her neighbors' homes. It blocks their
view and is quite close to their homes.

Tom Phare, Public Works Director, stated that the project engineer, Craig Kitzman, is
aware of the issues this installation has caused. He explained that Public Service had
agreed to contact the City before any installation, and that did not happen. He stated that
Kitzman is pursuing relocating the transformer eastward and down so that it is not so
visible.

Turner thanked Phare for the information.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON
THE AGENDA

Sisk asked to thank Heather Balser, Assistant to the City Administrator, for her work in
obtaining a $650,000 Colorado GOCO Grant. He stated that it is a splendid investment in
the community and she contributed significantly to that investment. He explained that
GOCO rarely awards grants on the first submission, however, in this case they did and he
commended Balser on her success.

Sisk stated that he has received telephone calls regarding overcrowding at the Monarch
K-8 Campus. He explained that there is a possibility that this will create the need for
portable, outdoor classrooms. He suggested that Council compose a letter to the Boulder
Valley School Board regarding concern that this overcrowding condition should be
evaluated.

Sisk extended thanks to Elle Cabbage and everyone involved in coordinating the July 4th
event. He expressed concern that the City did not receive the fireworks that they paid for.
He suggested that Council direct the City Attorney to compose a letter requesting a
refund from the fireworks supplier.

Davidson agreed with Sisk.
