PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />David Burrous, 924 Grant Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, explained that he and his wife <br />have appeared before Council several times over the past few years to discuss parking <br />and traffic issues on their block, stemming from the extraordinary growth being <br />experienced by St. Louis Church and School. He stated that, last week, they appeared <br />before the Planning Commission to thank them, and City staff, for their support. He <br />explained that they would also like to extend a similar thank you to Council for their <br />support and for the traffic and parking remedies that are now in place in their <br />neighborhood. He listed the following remedies: park!ng brackets have been painted on <br />all streets adjacent to the Church and School complex; driveways in the neighborhood <br />have been made more visible with the addition of yellow paint; an obscured stop sign at <br />the intersection of Walnut & Jefferson has been moved to a more visible location; a four- <br />way stop has been implemented at the comer of Walnut & Grant; the single parking <br />space at the comer of South & Grant has been eliminated; and the City of Louisville <br />installed signage, on July 8, in front of all the homes on the 900 block of Grant Avenue, <br />designating 'permit parking only'. He expressed hope that people will soon become <br />adjusted to the new parking plan, which will allow residents of the block, and their <br />guests, to park safely in front of the homes. <br /> <br />Alicia Burrous, 924 Grant Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, asked to specifically thank Paul <br />Wood, Planning Director, for his careful study of the many issues and impacts affecting <br />the neighborhood. She thanked the Planning Department for all the information they <br />provided regarding City processes. She thanked Tom Phare, Public Works Director, and <br />his staff for the many hours they spent implementing the improvements identified by <br />David Burrous. She extended a thank you to Bruce Goodman, Police Chief, and his <br />department for their commitment to enforce the parking plan. She thanked Bill Simmons, <br />City Administrator, and Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator, for their assistance in <br />making the neighborhood safer. Lastly, she asked to thank Mayor Davidson and the City <br />Council for their responsiveness to her concerns. She explained that the neighborhood is <br />working to resolve additional impact issues, including: HVAC noise and lighting, which <br />are currently under study. <br /> <br />Keany arrived (7:05 p.m.). <br /> <br />John Gedney, 723 Nighthawk Circle, Louisville, Colorado, stated that he is representing <br />the Louisville Dolphins Swim Team, and thanked Council for their continued support of <br />the team.
