<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 25 <br /> Series 1982 <br /> A RESOLUTION urging the United States Congress, the President <br />and the Secretary of Interior to establish funding for the land and <br />water conservation fund. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville objects <br />to the policy of the National Administration not to pursue continuation <br />of the effective and proven land and water conservation programs <br />of providing assistance to state and local projects to open space, park <br />and recreation acquisition, and development; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the elimination of state and local funding will <br />seriously impede the implementation of state and local park and <br />recreation plans designed to benefit residents, senior citizens, and <br />handicapped people; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the loss of funding will result in reduced capital <br />investment in local communities and effect the local labor force <br />which will also produce more unemployment; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the land and water conservation program has established <br />an outstanding record of providing beneficial park and recreation <br />facilities with the combined and coordinated efforts of the federal, <br />state and local government; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Louisville, Colorado, strongly believes that the legislation <br />which provides for state and local funding should be continued and <br />that state and local governments should receive funding in order to <br />enable them to continue with their conservation efforts. <br /> Passed and adopted this 20th day of July, 1982. <br /> ~;;! p?/~ <br /> Mayor <br />Attest; <br />Cle~ /n. >'?(2/~L; Ad/ <br />Clty Clerk <br />
