City Council
Regular Meeting Summary
January 11, 2007

3. Discussion - Louisville Fire Protection District (LFPD)
LFPD Board Members Present: Chief Tim Parker, Board Members Terri Abbott,
Dave Yost, Chris Schmidt, and Dan Ross

Mayor Sisk commended the City and the LFPD for working together cooperatively. The
Mayor requested an update from Chief Parker on the proposed Intergovernmental
Agreement.

Chief Parker explained that the document establishes standards for the LFPD to
maintain and for the City and residents to expect.

Chief Parker expressed concern for the proposed communications fee by Boulder
County for 911 Services.

Mayor Sisk explained that he has been attending the 911 Communications Services
meetings and it appears that negotiations are moving toward charging communities 'per
call'.

Chief Parker reviewed the 2006 LFPD Comprehensive Plan Report. They have
experienced tremendous success at recruiting volunteer fire fighters, and currently have
63 volunteers.

Mayor Sisk asked for areas that the City could help the LFPD.

Chief Parker explained that the LFPD is looking to build a third station, as well as a
training facility.

Mayor Sisk stated that the Intergovernmental Agreement is scheduled for discussion at
the January 16, 2007 Regular City Council meeting.

4. City Manager Items - Interim City Manager Heather Balser reviewed the
agenda for the January 16, 2007 City Council meeting.

The City Council requested to conduct the Board & Commission interviews as Special
Meetings; thereby allowing City Council discussion and agreement on appointees.

Mayor Sisk and Interim City Manager will be in Washington, DC from February 13-15
2007. After reviewing potential agenda items for the February 13, 2007 Study Session, it
was suggested that the meeting be cancelled.

Mayor Pro Tem Brown gave an update on the Buy Louisville Card Program.

5. Adjourn - The meeting adjourned at 8 pm

Submitted by
January 16, 2007
