However, he expressed concern that the task force
evaluation includes wildlife in our parks and open space.

Davidson agreed with Mayer but he did not feel that establishing a wildlife task force
could wait much longer. He stated that Louisville has a lot of wildlife that lives on private
property, creating a citywide problem.

Howard agreed with Davidson and requested that the coyote population be included. He
explained that he receives a number of complaints from residents who have lost pets to
coyotes and he often hears them howling near his home in the evening.

Mayer stated that he would like a better understanding of the legal implications in terms
of what the City can and cannot do to regulate wildlife. He suggested contacting the State
Representatives to recommend changes to State law regarding wildlife regulation.

Davidson directed the City Administrator to start the process to establish a citizen's task
force for wildlife management.

ADJOURNMENT

Howard moved that Council adjourn (7:50 p.m.), seconded by Keany. All in favor.

ATTEST:

Tom Davidson, Mayor

10
