school district is requesting additional funds to install the poured epoxy floor in
combination with carpet for the aisles. Committing an additional $10,000 would result in
a total of $636,000 for projects within Louisville. He stated that the Finance Committee
concurs and would recommend that Council authorize the additional expenditure of
funds.

Mayer asked for clarification that the total amount collected from the use tax is enough to
fund all the projects.

Simmons replied that the City anticipates the total collected by the end of the year to be
sufficient to fund these projects. He stated that $639,000 is the projection for the use tax.

Mayer expressed support for this expenditure, however, he suggested that some of the
monies collected by the City next year be reserved for the underpass at South Boulder
Road. He stated that this would provide a safe route to Coal Creek Elementary for
students from north Louisville.

Mayer moved that Council support the changes outlined by the City Administrator for a
poured epoxy floor at the Louisville Middle School, seconded by Keany.

Howard asked for clarification that the total of $636,000 includes a contingency. He
explained that this would allow for the improvements to be funded, even if there were
contingency issues.

Simmons replied that there is no contingency, per se, however, there is a contingency
included in the Louisville Elementary School gymnasium. He explained that the City's
contribution would be limited to the amount specified for the Particular project.

Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 5-0 vote, with Levihn abstaining and Sisk being
absent.

Simmons stated that the closing on the Warembourg property took place on Monday,
August 16. He explained that the land is not yet open to the public as the City will need to
determine, along with the County, what the best uses of the property will be for a short
term and a long term basis. He displayed the first draft of a City of Louisville map
showing the Warembourg, Trillium and Boulder County Land Venture properties as
jointly owned properties. He stated that the City of Broomfield closed on land for the
Northwest Parkway on August 9, 1999.

Mayer asked whether the City of Broomfield has procured the sixty acre parcel for open
space that they were required to under the Northwest Parkway Intergovernmental
Agreement.

Simmons replied he was uncertain whether the City of Broomfield has.
