RESOLUTION NO. 32 SERIES 2006 A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 7, 2006, TO BE CONDUCTED AS A COORDINATED ELECTION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING A TABOR BALLOT ISSUE TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interests of the City of Louisville to call a special election for November 7, 2006, to be conducted as a coordinated election, for the purpose of referring to the registered electors of the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning the imposition of a City use tax; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6-3 of the Home Rule Charter, the City Council may call a special election by resolution adopted not less than 60 days prior to the date of the election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. A special election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, November 7,2006 as part of a coordinated election. Section 2. The purpose of the special election will be to submit to the registered electors of the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning the imposition of a City use tax, to raise additional revenues for the City. The City Council shall submit to the registered electors one or more TABOR ballot issues concerning the proposed use tax, to appear on the ballot of the special municipal election, by the adoption of appropriate resolutions or ordinances as required by law. Section 3. The officers and employees of the City are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary and appropriate actions to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution in accordance with Colorado law. Section 4. Pursuant to C.R. S. Section 31-10-102.7, the City will utilize the requirements and procedures of the Uniform Election Code of 1992, articles 1 to 13 oftitle 1, C.R.S., as amended, in lieu of the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965, article 10 of title 31, C.R.S., as amended, with respect to the regular municipal election to be held on November 7,2006, and such election shall be conducted as part of a coordinated election.
