<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 32 <br /> SERIES 2006 <br /> A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 7, <br /> 2006, TO BE CONDUCTED AS A COORDINATED ELECTION, FOR THE <br /> PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING A TABOR BALLOT ISSUE TO THE <br /> REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interests of the City of Louisville to call a <br /> special election for November 7, 2006, to be conducted as a coordinated election, for the purpose of <br /> referring to the registered electors of the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning the imposition of a <br /> City use tax; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6-3 of the Home Rule Charter, the City Council may call a <br /> special election by resolution adopted not less than 60 days prior to the date of the election. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> Section 1. A special election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, November 7,2006 <br /> as part of a coordinated election. <br /> Section 2. The purpose of the special election will be to submit to the registered electors <br /> of the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning the imposition of a City use tax, to raise additional <br /> revenues for the City. The City Council shall submit to the registered electors one or more TABOR <br /> ballot issues concerning the proposed use tax, to appear on the ballot of the special municipal election, <br /> by the adoption of appropriate resolutions or ordinances as required by law. <br /> Section 3. The officers and employees of the City are hereby authorized and directed to <br /> take all necessary and appropriate actions to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution in accordance <br /> with Colorado law. <br /> Section 4. Pursuant to C.R. S. Section 31-10-102.7, the City will utilize the requirements <br /> and procedures of the Uniform Election Code of 1992, articles 1 to 13 oftitle 1, C.R.S., as amended, <br /> in lieu of the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965, article 10 of title 31, C.R.S., as amended, <br /> with respect to the regular municipal election to be held on November 7,2006, and such election <br /> shall be conducted as part of a coordinated election. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this I" day of August, 2006. // <br /> - ~ / <br /> " ~'~ <br /> /' (/,,:/ <br /> Don P.
