<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 44, SERIES 2006 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INTENT WITH REGARD TO LOUISVILLE BALLOT ISSUE 2A <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Louisville has experienced declining sales tax revenues, and <br /> City Council anticipates a negative impact to the levels of service provided, and <br /> WHEREAS, The City's sales tax revenues support projects in the General Fund, Capital <br /> Improvements Fund and the Land Acquisition account, affecting the level of service the <br /> City can provide, and <br /> WHEREAS, The Louisville City Council has approved submission of Ballot Issue 2A to <br /> the voters of the City of Louisville, which would set a Use Tax of3.375% on tangible <br /> personal property items purchased outside ofthe City's limits and on construction and <br /> building materials used in connection with new residential construction, and <br /> WHEREAS, It is estimated that passage ofthe Use Tax would generate $500,000 from <br /> tax on tangible personal property and $300,000 on construction and building materials <br /> used for new residential construction, and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> City Council hereby finds and states that it is City Council's intent that if <br /> ballot issue 2A is approved by the registered electors at the November 7, 2006 <br /> election that the revenues for such use tax shall be applied in the following <br /> manner: <br /> . Memory Square and other recreational services <br /> . Public Safety <br /> . Library <br /> . Open space and parks <br /> . Senior Services <br /> . APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of Oc <br />
