<br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1489 <br /> SERIES 2006 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CITY OF LOUISVILLE CABLE TELEVISION <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS <br />WHEREAS, the City has recently completed negotiations for granting a franchise to a <br />cable television operator and has adopted Ordinance No. 1488, Series 2006, approving a new <br />cable franchise agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to ensure the provision of quality customer service under such <br />franchise agreement, as well as under other potential franchises, the City desires to adopt cable <br />television customer service standards, as permitted by law; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City's recent cable franchise needs <br />assessment and experience under the existing cable franchise agreement have disclosed a need <br />for a comprehensive set of customer service standards that would address such matters as the <br />period of time within which cable service must be installed, the handling of customer complaints, <br />the availability of customer service representatives, customer privacy, and other matters; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Greater Metro Telecommunications Consortium <br />(GMTC), and the customer service standards adopted herein are based upon standards which <br />have been developed by GMTC and which have been adopted and are being successfully utilized <br />in many local governments in the region; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that establishment of cable television <br />customer service standards will aid in the handling of citizen complaints regarding the provision <br />of cable television services in the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORAO: <br />Section 1. Title 5 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of <br />a new Chapter 5.22, to read as follows: <br /> Chapter 5.22 <br />CABLE TELEVISION CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS <br />Sec. 5.22.010 Short title. <br />Sec. 5.22.020 Purpose. <br />Sec. 5.22.030 Policy for customer service standards. <br />Sec. 5.22.040 Definitions. <br />Sec. 5.22.050 Customer service. <br />Sec. 5.22.060 Complaint procedure. <br />Sec. 5.22.070 Miscellaneous. <br /> 1 <br />
