<br /> J..:. ;h The person or organization responsible for the erection or distribution <br /> of any political signs, or the owner of the property upon which such <br /> signs are located, shall remove such signs within ten days after the <br /> primary or special elections to which the signs pertain, unless such <br /> signs continue to be pertinent to a general election to be held within 90 <br /> days, in which case such signs shall be removed within ten days after <br /> the general election to which they pertain. <br /> 4. Signs may be erected and maintained on private land: provided. that such signs <br /> shall not be a banner of paper or cloth: shall not be posted more than 90 days prior <br /> to the election to which the sign is related: shall be removed within 10 davs <br /> following the election to which the sign is related: shall be limited to waIL <br /> window and ground signs. shall be limited to two signs for each street which the <br /> lot abuts for each permitted use: shall not be animated: and shall not flash. blink <br /> or fluctuate: and may be illuminated but only from a concealed light source: <br /> D. Real Estate signs. <br /> 1. Shall not be over four feet in height or six square feet in area and shall <br /> be setback 10 feet from the right of way in residential zones. In <br /> commercial zones the sign can have a maximum height of 10 feet and <br /> area of32 square feet and must be setback 25 ft from the right of way. <br /> E.-I}.;. Other temporary signs. Temporary signs not specifically regulated by <br /> the preceding subsections shall be displayed only in accordance with the <br /> following conditions: <br /> 1. Such signs shall be limited to freestanding, window or wall signs only; <br /> shall not exceed +QG40 square feet in total surface area per use;,....aatl <br /> shall comply with the applicable height and setback regulations for the <br /> district in which they are located. and shall not be located above the <br /> roofline. <br /> 2. Such signs shall remain in place for no more than two. 30-dav period~ <br /> in anyone calendar yearof more thoo 30 days, except that the planning <br /> directorbuilding official may, for good cause, extend the time period <br /> up to 30 days upon application therefor. <br /> Sec. 17.24.t8G160. Sign supports. <br /> The supporting members of a sign shall appear to be free of any extra bracing <br /> angle iron, guy wires, cables, etc. The supports shall appear to be an architectural <br /> and integral part of the building and/or sign. Supporting colmnns of record, square <br /> or shaped steel members may be erected if required bracing, visible to the public, <br /> is minimized or covered. <br /> Sec. 17.24.l9D170. Exemptions. <br /> A. The following signs shall be exempt from the requirements of this chapter <br /> except for requirements relative to public safety: <br /> 1. Flags or emblems of government, political, civic, philanthropic, <br /> educational or religious organization, displayed on private property, as <br /> long as such flag or emblem does not exceed 60 square feet; <br /> 2. Signs of a duly constituted governmental body, including traffic or <br /> 14 <br />
