<br />translucent material. <br />Kiosk means a small structure, typically located within a pedestrian walkway <br />or similar circulation area, and intended for use as a key, magazine or similar type <br />of small shop, or for use as display space for posters, notices, exhibits, etc. <br />Light source includes neon, fluorescent or similar tube lighting, the <br />incandescent bulb (including the light-producing elements therein) light-emitting <br />diode (LED) and any reflecting surface which, by reason of its construction and/or <br />placement, becomes in effect the light source. <br />Lot means a portion or parcel of land, whether part of a platted subdivision or <br />otherwise, occupied or intended to be occupied by a building or use and its <br />accessories, together with such yards as are required under the provisions of the <br />zoning ordinance. A lot must be an integral unit of land held under unified <br />ownership in fee or in co-tenancy, or under legal control tantamount to such <br />ownership. <br />Maintenance means the replacing, repairing or repainting of a portion of a sign <br />structure; periodic changing of bulletin board panels; or renewing of copy which <br />has been made unusable by ordinary wear and tear, weather or accident. The <br />replacing or repairing of a sign or sign structure which has been damaged to an <br />extent exceeding 50 percent of the appraised replacement cost (as determined by <br />the building official) shall be considered as maintenance only when such sign <br />conforms to all of the applicable provisions of this code and when the damage has <br />been caused by an act of God or violent accident. <br />Marquee means a permanently-roofed structure attached to and supported by a <br />building, and projecting from the building. <br />Monument siJ!n means any sign which is anchored to the ground with a <br />monolithic base and is independent of any other structure. <br />Owner means a person, firm, corporation or other legal entity recorded as such <br />on the records of the county clerk and recorder, including a duly authorized agent <br />or attorney, a purchaser, devisee, fiduciary or a person having a vested or <br />contingent interest in the property in question. <br />Pole-mounted sign means a sign supported by one or more poles and used for <br />traffic regulation or to provide appropriate directions to loading and receiving <br />areas. visitor parking. and other areas within each development site. <br />Projecting sign means a double-faced sign which projects more than 12 inches <br />over private or public property and which uses a building wall as its main source <br />of support. <br /> 4 <br />
