Louisville SustainabilityAdvisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Meeting Minutes <br />th <br />Wednesday, January 19, 2010-City Hall, 749 Main Street, Spruce Room <br />I.CALL TO ORDER: <br />Mary Ann called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm for Arno.(Several <br />Arno assumed Chairmanship over at 7 pm. <br />members arrived late due to the weather.) <br />II.ROLL CALL:boldCullen Choi, Mary Ann Heaney, <br />Members (those present in ):Annie <br />,Andy JohnsonArno Laesecke, Mark Persichetti,Ted Sontrop,Staff Liaison Tom <br />Hughes, <br />Phare, City Council Representative Dave Clabots <br />. <br />III. APPROVAL OF CURRENT MEETING’S AGENDA: <br />The agenda was approved without <br />changes. <br />IV.APPROVAL OF PAST MONTH’S MEETING MINUTES: <br />The minutes of the previous meeting <br />onDecember 15th,2010were approved unanimously. <br />Distribution of Open Government Pamphlets <br />V. <br />Tom distributed the pamphlets and briefly discussed the requirements. Stressedwas the <br />prohibition ofmore than two members meeting to discuss the board’s business. That would <br />constitute a formal meeting. A notice would need to be posted along with the agenda prior to <br />Tom indicated that board members must go to a <br />such gatherings,then minutes generated. <br />training class this year if they have not already –particularly our two new members. <br />Arno said the class would probably be held in May. <br />VI.Approval of Designated Places for Posting Notices <br />There was a motion by Arnoto adopt the designated locations. A unanimous vote approved <br />them: City Hall, Police/Municipal Court Building, Recreation/Senior Center, Library, City website. <br />VIII.PUBLIC COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA: <br />None initially. An individual arrived later in the <br />meeting for the discussion on the water treatment plant’s PV panels (see below). <br />VII.Review of 2010 Goals and Achievements <br />Each returning member briefly summarized their activities; all identified personal goals for 2011: <br />continue into 2011 addressing our list from last year <br />Mark <br />–Suggested that the board <br />(there are enough topics on it for 2-3 years of activities). (Seeattached list.) <br />Specifically, he would like to develop an ordinance to deal with construction site waste: <br />recycling of specific materials, address materials which fall outside the green building <br />code. Mark also would like to generate funding for an energy efficient residential lighting <br />program. If the board is able to raise funds, then LSAB could seek matching funds from <br />the county. He indicated that the program would not necessarily provide funds for just <br />holiday lights but include any LED lights. <br />Andy <br />–Would like to conduct the Louisville Solar and Green Homes tour. CRC will <br />likely not manage it in 2011. Transition Louisville will likely participate (they would <br />provide the funds for marketing). The tour will be the end of September but LSAB would <br />need to initiate the planning process in April. Andy would also like to create a <br />framework for the city to talk about sustainabilityat high level. Mary Ann’s presentation <br />is good start and is palatable to a wide audience. But we need to create a language for <br />LSAB to talk about these issues city wide.
