Draft changes to the ordinance were discussed such as the time limit for a demolition permit to be active, and a demolition process that is similar to the land use application process the Planning Department currently uses for land use entitlements. There was some discussion on whether a demolition application being active for1 year from the hearing datewas sufficient time. Staff further outlined in detail the Demolition Processan applicant would follow. Update/Discussion –McCaslin Blvd. and Washington Avenue Intersection Modifications City Council and staff reviewed the proposed criteria and looked at numerous options and variations for intersection modifications atMcCaslin Blvd. and Washington Ave. to improve the pedestrian crossing. Staff will do an internal review of the options to determine conformity with current traffic operations/transportation policies and proceduresprior to solicitingpublic feedback to reduce the number of alternativesand select final optionsfor a more thorough investigation. Staff will return to City Council for authorization to complete any remaining initial work and seek direction/funding for the public outreach, design and construction phase of the preferred alternative. Update/Discussion –Gateway Signs City Council and staff reviewed the proposed designs for City gateway signs. Staff discussed the necessary initiatives/scope to finalize the City’s gateway sign package designincluding further assessment, public involvement and outreach. City Manager’s Report The City Manager reviewed the advanced agenda and specifically items for the March 8, 2011 specialmeeting on the budget to begin at 4:00 pm in the Louisville Public Library.
