Revitalization Commission
Agenda
March 21, 2011
NW Rail project pursued federal funds. The previous plans from the city
were not required to designate the property as historic. Peter Stewart,
Chair of the HPC is eager to work with the developer and identify a
solution.
VIII. Business Matters of Commission
A. Review draft RFP for DRCOG work on Station Area Master Plan, Next
Steps Study
Staff proposed to integrate the two studies to implement the
infrastructure needs. This will allow the study to maximize the
benefit. Funding exists ($75,000 state, $75,000 county, and
$150,000 local) for the Hwy 42 corridor and $80,000 of federal
funds and $20,000 local funds for the underpass next steps. The
project will be on an 18 month schedule. Michael asked if there
was a way to sequence the project? Troy will try to get the
underpass understood first in the 12 month timeline. Michael- Can
the traffic study analyze without the FasTrack study. Troy- We
can scope that into the RFP. Carlos- The study would evaluate
grade separation options, not just an underpass.
B. Overview of Mixed Use Guidelines; Provide Historical Context
Troy presented the sections for the guidelines in detail. LRC will
have further discussion at the May meeting on the ground floor
commercial requirement.
