Board members
discussed a menu, responsibilities, and selected April 13 as the date for the lunch. Alicia
volunteered to organize and coordinate. The Board unanimously agreed.
IX.Director’s Report
A.Statistics
February Monthly Use Measures were reviewed. Beth noted that circulation continues to
rise and is up 12% over last year. January saw an increase of 11% over 2010.
B.Foundation Budget
Beth reported that the Louisville Public Library Foundation approved requests totaling
$28,000 for 2011. This increase is largely due to the Madison bequest.
C.Upcoming Events
1)March & April calendars
Copies of the library event calendars were reviewed. Beth highlighted special
programming in March including the Youth Art Show reception, an adult career
workshop, and a Chautauqua program for Women’s History Month. April highlights
include a program on wildflower hikes, the Historical Museum’s bimonthly ‘Brown
Bag’ discussion, and National Library Week.
2)National Library Week reception, April 16, 10am-12pm
To wrap up the week’s events, the Library will again host an open house reception.
Light refreshments will be served. There will also be a drawing for three Library
canvas book bags, each filled with donated books: one each for children, teens, and
adults. The Library Foundation is donating the book bags and books that have been
earmarked for their used book sale. Beth asked if any Board members would be
interested in attending to greet and speak with patrons. Alicia, Jeannie, and
Cassandra volunteered.
D.Automated Materials Handling (AMH) System
In advance of preparing the Library’s RFQ/RFP documents for the AMH, Beth reported that
she and Circulation Supervisor Lisa Merly visited the Greeley branch of the High Plains
Library District to get a first-hand look at their AMH system and talk to staff involved in the
acquisition and operation of the system.
X.Discussion Items for Next Regular Meeting, May 12, 2011
A.On the Same Page program
B.Policy Review
C.Book Drop in Superior
D.Library User Survey
E.Director’s Report
XI.Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm.
~
//
~//ÁÅÉ 0ÂÊÊÈÃ
ÇÊÇÇÇÅÆÂÉÅ//ÇÊÇÇÇÅÆÂÇÇ%$//1 ~1
