BRaD <br />Meeting Summary <br />March 7, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />FEBRUARY/MARCH ECONOMIC BRIEFING – <br />Bonnie presented a visual exercise showing the movement of small businesses in downtown, <br />closing or moving from one location to another and possible new businesses coming to downtown. <br />BRaD member, Menaker, reported the Chili Hut lost their lease and is liquidating. <br />Bonnie provided an update on the Grain Elevator study – study will be coming back from the <br />consultant with suggested possible uses for the building, but the City zoning will dictate. <br />Sunset Magazine article – this was a 2 year effort making this happen. Article was written in <br />August of last year but was just recently published. <br />Boulder County building on Main Street – County Commissioners are talking mid-March of where <br />they might move and then putting their building up for sale, however, the progress is slow. <br />State Mercantile building – 2 new tenants in the basement <br />BRaD member, Menaker, reported that Bob’s Sandwich Shop should be reopened before the patio <br />season. <br />King Soopers Gas Station under construction and moving along fast. <br />Divine Canine on Highway 42 under construction. <br />Justin McClure, RMCS, gave an update on Steel Ranch that home builder is working fast to start <br />vertical construction targeting spring sale season. RMCS very pleased with the progress. <br />Safeway – some interest from a developer to use part of the building <br />Kiosk is expanding to lease another building at CTC. <br />Collins Machines – closed – bulding for sale. <br />Hoyle Property (property is 30 acres surrounded by CTC) – pre-application came in last week <br />Bonnie reported that she had submitted 2 proposals, one for vacant land and one for building, for <br />the NASA CAMT site. Proposals were submitted to Metro Denver and it’s estimated the City won’t <br />hear anything for 6-8 weeks. The RFP requested vacant land of 200 acres, however, Louisville <br />could only propose 160 acres. <br />Fresca Foods moved into their new building <br />A new merchant group was recently started in the Centennial Valley and the first meeting of 15-20 <br />companies participated. From the first meeting it was discussed the possibility of putting together <br />a website to promote Centennial Valley. City staff is expecting to be involved with this group <br />between 6 months to a year, but after that they should be self-sustaining. <br />It was announced Marcos Pizza moving in to building where Qdoba is located. <br /> <br />
