SINCE 1882 <br /> City Council <br /> Council Retreat Special Budget Meeting <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> Tuesday, March 8, 2011 <br /> Louisville Public Library, 1s Floor Library Conference Room <br /> 954 Spruce Street <br /> 4:00 7:00 PM <br /> Call to Order Mayor Sisk called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br /> Roll CaII was taken and the following members were present: <br /> City Council: Mayor Charles Sisk, Mayor Pro Tem Sheri Marsella. <br /> Councilors: Ron Sackett, Frost Yarnell, Dave Clabots, <br /> Hank Dalton and Robert Muckle (arrived at 4 :04 p.m.) <br /> Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br /> Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager <br /> Tom Phare, Public Works Director <br /> Kevin Watson, Finance Director <br /> Bruce Goodman, Police Chief <br /> Troy Russ, Planning Director <br /> Joe Stevens, Parks Recreation Director <br /> Beth Barrett, Library Director <br /> Kathleen Hix, Human Resources Manager <br /> Meredyth Muth, Public Relations Manager <br /> Nancy Varra, City Clerk <br /> OPENING COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Sisk explained last year the City Council conducted an early budget retreat, <br /> which was facilitated by CML Director Sam Mamet. It was scheduled before City <br /> Council was aware of the closure of Sam's Club. The early budget meeting allowed the <br /> City staff and Council to make some difficult decisions about the 2010 budget. He <br /> thanked the staff for their work on this year's presentations, which will allow discussion <br /> and direction on the 2011/2012 budget. <br /> City Manager Fleming gave an overview of the topics, which would be discussed during <br /> the City Council Budget Special Meeting.
