Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
November 8, 2006

Lafayette members spoke about their "adopt an open space program" that has
been very successful. Everyone of Lafayette's open space parcels is adopted,
and there is a waiting list for future adoptions of open space.

The two boards spoke about the Indian Peaks Filing 17 and the Louisville Board
expressed concern about the lack of buffer between the proposed subdivision
and the City of Louisville.

Lafayette members indicated that Aquarius could use a bag dispenser for doggie
poop.

Scott Robson indicated that Louisville is working on signage for Louisville open
spaces.

Lafayette indicated that they would like continuous mileage signs for the Coal
Creek trail.

On the Coal Creek instream flow issue, Ted Kowalski indicated that the City of
Louisville has received comments back from Lafayette and Erie and that the
Water management committee is meeting on this Friday to discuss this issue and
other issues. Lafayette indicated that this should be spearheaded by the public
works directors.

Encroachment issues were discussed generally.

With regard to the Hecla Lake Management, Lafayette indicated that they would
like to see an ADA Accessibility platform much like the Greenlee Viewing
platform. The Cottonwoods were discussed, and Jeff Moline indicated that he
would speak to Chris Lichty (the City forester) about the survivability of the
Cottonwoods.

There is good coordination between staffs but perhaps we could coordinate
better between our planning department staffs. Both committees recommended
that we should keep working together and keep meeting at least annually.
Perhaps we could try to coordinate a regional meeting on open space issues.
Louisville suggested that we ought to meet with Erie, Superior, Broomfield, and
Boulder County. If we were to do this, it would have to be a % day meeting.

There was a discussion about getting on each others' emaillists. Lafayette
indicated that Lafayette has open space meeting alerts.

Next meeting items - Field trip to StorageteklSun property. "Adopt an open
space" program, and, signage issues.

Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 pm.
