I am interested in this position primarily because I have a deep and abiding love and respect for the outdoors and its open spaces and because my wife and I, who are raising a family here, are deeply invested in the future of this community. We both grew up in Boulder and have resided in East Boulder County since 1993. We lived in Lafayette from 1993 until 2004 when we moved to Louisville. Both our children attend school in Louisville. My wife works in Boulder and my law practice is in Louisville. Simply put, we love this community and plan to be here for many years to come. As you can see from the attached resume, I have very little direct experience working on environmental-related issues. However, as an attorney specializing over the years in criminal, family and juvenile law, I have learned how to work with disparate groups of people with varying agendas. This has given me the opportunity to learn how to compromise and respect other people's views and opinions. I believe this experience would assist me as a member of the Louisville Open Space Advisory Board, which I assume often has to take into account many competing interests when making its decisions and/or recommendations. I can assure you that if I were selected to serve on the Open Space Advisory Board, I would work extremely hard and would do the best job I possibly could to help preserve and enhance our future, Thank you for your consideration, ~-t5~ Ene.
