Memorandum
To: Business Retention and Development Committee
From: Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director
Date: June 6, 2011
RE: Discussion with Matt Jones
On Thursday May 26, John Benedetti, Chamber Board President, and I met with State Representative
and Louisville resident Matt Jones to discuss job creation within his district (Louisville, Lafayette,
Longmont). Representative Jones was elected to this position in November. Here is his website URL:
http /mattionesforcolorado.com.
Rep. Jones would like to talk with BRaD about how he might assist in bringing more jobs to his district,
and explore whether there is any hope for cooperative across his district. He felt that he might be able
to piggyback on the recent economic development efforts of the Governor. Governor Hickenlooper is in
the final stages of assembling a statewide economic development plan. Here is a site to learn more
about that effort: http: /www.colorado.gov /cs/ Satellite /OEDIT/OEDIT/1251588165225
