. .il, ORDINANCE NO. 660 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING A NEW CHAPTER ENT I TLED " COVERED MALL BU I LD I NGS II TO TITLE 15. WHEREAS, the Building Inspector has requested that the Municipal Code be amended to include specific standards for the design and construction of covered mall buildings; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that such an amendment to the Municipal Code is necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section l. That the following Chapter 15.44 is hereby added to Title 15 of the Louisville Municipal Code: CHAPTER 15.44 COVERED MALL BUILDINGS 15.44.010 Purpose and Scope A. The purpose of this chapter is to establish minimum standards of safety for the construction and use of covered mall buildings having not more than three levels. B. The provisions of this chapter shall apply to build- ings or structures defined herein as covered mall buildings. The following uses need not comply with the provisions of this chapter: 1. Terminals for transportation facilities. 2. Foyers and lobbies of hotel, apartment and office buildings. q Buildings need not comply with the provisions oJ . of this chapter when they comply totally with all other applicable provisions of this code. C. Except as specifically required by this chapter, covered mall buildings shall meet all applicable provisions of this code. l5.44.020 Definitions For the purpose of this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows: A. Covered Mall Building is a single buildin~ enclosing a number of tenants and occupancies such as retail stores, d:rL'J.king and dining establishments, entertainment and amusement facilities, offices and other similar uses wherein two or more tenants have a main entrance into one or more malls. B. Anchor Store is an exterior perimeter department store or major merchandising center having direct access to a mall but having all required exits independent of a mall.
