HistoricalCommission <br />Minutes <br />April 20,2011 <br />Page 3of 3 <br />1.Commission members intend to plan a presentation.A subcommittee of Dan <br />Mellish, Jennifer Strand, Beth Barrett and Bridget Bacon will meet to discuss <br />further. <br />Chairperson’s Report. <br />E.Dan reported that last month,heand Pete Lindquist presented the <br />City Council with apetition with more than 300 signatures requesting thatthe City increase <br />funding so thattheMuseum can beopen for morehours. <br />Commission Comments and Discussion Items for April Meeting. <br />F.Don Ross submitted <br />his resignationfor health reasons.He has served as a member of the Historical <br />Commission for 22 years and his contributions have been numerous and valuable. <br />Chairperson Dan Mellish accepted his resignation with regret. When asked what advice he <br />had to give, Don indicatedthat he hoped that the Jordinelli House would be able to be <br />openedto the public. <br />Close Advisory Board Meeting. <br />G. <br />VI.Meeting as Fundraising Board for the Historical Museum <br />. <br />Treasurer’s Budget:Dave Ferguson <br />A. <br />Dave presented the following report: <br />Feb: <br />Previous Balance$10,168.51 <br />Expenses$1,102.63 <br />Receipts <br />CD$25,093.67 <br />Savings$6,800.48 <br />Checking$9,790.88 <br />Total$41,685.03 <br />March: <br />Previous Balance$9,790.88 <br />Expenses$0 <br />Receipts$500.00 <br />CD$25,093.67 <br />Savings$6,800.48 <br />Checking$10,290.88 <br />Total$45,055.31 <br />The Commission approved the Treasurer’s report. <br />2009 & 2010 comparative fundraising totals: <br />B.Bridget noted that nearly $3,000 has been <br />donated in memory of Bill Buffo.She stated that donations, sales, andmemberships are <br />the three primaryways in which the Commission raises money, with memberships as the <br />main source of income.Bridget also gave an update on the self-published book about <br />Louisville by Wayne Lee and Maggie Snyder. The Museum provided a great deal of <br />historical information as well as 41 historical photos for the book, which is expected to <br />come out this summer. Bridget stated thatit might work out for the Museum to be one of <br />the outlets for the sale of the book, and the Commission approved this. Conoco-Phillips <br />has pre-ordered300 books from Wayne Lee. <br />2011 membership statistics: <br />C.Dan asked for volunteers from the Commission to help with <br />calling members to remind them to renew their memberships. Several volunteered. Also, <br />Dan encouraged Commission members to approach local businessesfor Business <br />Sponsorships. Commission members indicated that they would like to discuss this more at <br />an upcoming meeting. Dan saidthat he would try to get a list of newbusinesses in <br />Louisville for the Commission to work with. <br />Close Fundraising Board Meeting and Adjournat 8:00 p.m. <br />D. <br /> <br />
