The planned unit development <br />includes usable, functional open space for the mutual benefit of the <br />entire trade; and is designed to provide variety and diversity through <br />the variance of normal zoning and subdivision standards so that maxi- <br />mum long range benefits can be gained, and the unique features of the <br />development of site preserved and enhanced while still being in harmony <br />with the surrounding neighborhood. Approval of a planned unit <br />development does not eliminate the requirements of subdividing. <br /> 17.08.403 Recreational Enterprise <br /> "Recreational Enterprise" means a temporary or outdoor <br />amusement which in certain cases might be appropriate in an agricultural <br />zone and includes carnivals, expositions, driving ranges, fairs, <br />rodeos, tent shows and similar enterprises. <br /> 17.08.435 Sign <br /> "Sign" means any object or devise or part thereof, situated <br />outdoors or indoors, which is used to advertise, identify, display, <br />direct or attract attention to an object, person, institution, organi- <br />zation, business, product:, service, event or location by any means <br />incl uding words, letters, figures, designs, symbols, fixtures, co 10rs, <br />motion, illumination or projected images. Signs do not include: <br /> A. Flags of nations, organizations of nations, <br /> states and cities, or of fraternal, religious and <br /> civic organizations, which are not oversized and <br /> not used for commercial purpose; <br /> B. MerchandisE~ , pictures, or models of products <br /> or services incorporated in a window display; <br /> C. Time and temperature devices not related to a <br /> product; <br /> D. National, state, religious, fraternal, professional <br /> and civic symbols or crests; <br /> E. Works of art which in no way identify a product; <br /> F. Scoreboards located on athletic fields; <br /> G. Signs which give public information with the <br /> purpose of identifying and locating a facility; <br />If for any reason it cannot be readily determined whether or not an <br />an object is a sl.gn, the City Administrator shall make such deter- <br />mination. <br /> 17.08.600 Yard, front <br /> ".:Front yard" means the yard between the side lot lines and <br />measure horizontally at right angles to the front lot line to the <br /> -7- <br />
